MEtrology is a project that aims to reimagine and redefine the international standard units of measurements for mass, time and length, which lay at the foundation of all of our day to day lives. Much like the original definitions of metric system units, MEtrology relies on the production of physical objects to serve as artifacts for each measurement definition. MEtrology investigates how ‘man-made’ systems, as well as objects, can embed themselves and their power so deep within our lives, we don’t even notice they’re there. This particular redefinition of measurement standards puts the artist at the center of the universe and asks how their individual perspective compares and contrasts to that of the viewer.
